Vice Chief Of Army Staff Lieutenant General MV Suchindra Kumar Takes
- Indian Army Training Team at Lesotho, Brigadier General Staff (Operations) of a Corps in the Eastern Theater, Additional Director General Military Intelligence, and Director General Military Intelligence at Army HQ.
- The Officer went to the Defence Services Staff College in Wellington, the Higher Command Course in Mhow, and the National Defence College in New Delhi.
On Wednesday, Lieutenant General MV Suchindra Kumar took over as Vice Chief of the Army Staff. “The General officer has taken over the position from Lieutenant General BS Raju, who is now in charge of the Jaipur-based Sapta Shakti Command,” the Ministry of Defence said.
Before becoming the Vice Chief of the Army Staff, Kumar was the Deputy Chief of the Army Staff for Strategy at Army HQ. In his most recent jobs, he has worked with intelligence, operations, force structuring, operational logistics, and putting technology to use.
“The General Officer went to Sainik School Bijapur and the National Defense Academy. He joined the 1 Assam Regiment in June 1985. He has been in charge of the 59 Rashtriya Rifles Battalion (ASSAM), an Infantry Brigade, and an Infantry Division on the Line of Control, as well as the White Knight Corps, which is one of the most active units in Northern Command,” the ministry said.
The General Officer has worked in a number of staff and teaching positions, including as an instructor at Infantry School, Mhow, Senior Operations Officer in the United Nations Sector in Cambodia, Colonel (Policy) in Military Secretary Branch, Indian Army Training Team at Lesotho, Brigadier General Staff (Operations) of a Corps in the Eastern Theater, Additional Director General Military Intelligence, and Director General Military Intelligence at Army HQ.
“The Officer went to the Defence Services Staff College in Wellington, the Higher Command Course in Mhow, and the National Defence College in New Delhi. He has also taken classes in Sri Lanka and Egypt about “Cooperative Security in South Asia” and “United Nations Senior Mission Leaders Course,” respectively. “A number of professional journals have printed his military papers,” the ministry said.
