- He talked about how the tourism industry is helping Sri Lanka get its economy back on track.
Rajnath Singh, who is in charge of defense, will go to Sri Lanka on September 2 and 3 to look at defense ties. He will talk with Sri Lanka’s President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena while he is there. A press statement from the Defense Ministry said that during the meeting, the two sides will talk about India and Sri Lanka’s defense ties. In Sri Lanka, Rajnath Singh will also go to Nuwara Elia and Trincomalee.
“During the visit, Shri Rajnath Singh will talk with Ranil Wickremesinghe, who is the President and Defense Minister of Sri Lanka, and Dinesh Gunawardena, who is the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka. “The meetings will cover the whole range of India’s defense ties with Sri Lanka,” the Defense Ministry said in a press release.
Rajnath Singh’s trip will show that India is still committed to building on the warm and friendly relationships it already has with Sri Lanka. In a news release, the Defense Ministry called Rajnath Singh’s visit a “important step toward building strong friendships” between the two countries. Earlier on August 11, Sri Lankan Finance Minister Shehan Semansinghe said that India helped their country when things were hard.
Semasinghe said, “India was a big part of Sri Lanka’s process of getting better and getting back on its feet. I’m sure it will also be a big part of the growth of the business. So, we are thankful to both the Indian government and the Indian people because India stepped in when the economic crisis was at its worst. I’m sure Indians could also be glad that Sri Lanka has gotten better.”
Semasinghe said, “India helped us get a good rating from the IMF, and that told the world that Sri Lanka is back in business.” He was thankful for India’s help during hard times. He also said, “The last three months have been very hard for us. There was a lack of food, fuel, and electricity, among other things. This changed a lot after the EFF was passed. We’re happy to say that we work well with the people who owe us money. We’re glad that we’ve gotten back on our feet and are well on our way to a full recovery. Soon, we’ll start to grow again.” He talked about how the tourism industry is helping Sri Lanka get its economy back on track. He also said that the tourism industry in Sri Lanka is growing.
He also said, “We want to give priority to a few sectors for investment. The energy sector is one of the most important ones, and renewable energy is another important one. PM Modi and President Wickremesinghe talked about this at a recent meeting.” We welcome people from everywhere. We’ve learned a lot from our crisis, and we’re confident that our debt won’t be a problem.
