Rajnath Singh Urges SCO Member States To Work Together In Eliminating Terrorism

On Friday, Rajnath Singh, who is in charge of defense, asked the members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) to work to get rid of terrorists. At a meeting of the group’s defense ministers, he asked them to hold those who help or fund terrorism accountable, officials who know about the case said.

Khawaja Muhammad Asif, who is Pakistan’s defense minister, didn’t show up to the meeting. Officials said that a person from the Pakistani government attended the SCO meeting from Islamabad.

Singh’s call to stop terrorism came a few days after five troops were killed by terrorists who attacked an army truck taking them from Bhimber Gali to Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir.

Singh told the other members of the SCO that any act of terrorism or support for it in any way is a major crime against humanity and that peace and prosperity cannot live with this threat.

“If a country gives terrorists a place to live, it is not only a threat to other countries, but also to itself,” Singh said, without naming Pakistan.

Singh told the Army Commanders’ Conference on April 19 that the enemy was still using proxies to fight wars. “The radicalization of young people is not only a security risk, but also a major roadblock to the social and economic progress of society.” If we want to make the SCO a stronger and more trustworthy foreign organization, we should focus on fighting terrorism.
