India will showcase a powerful lineup of home-grown defence technologies at the 44th India International Trade Fair (IITF), beginning this week at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The Department of Defence Production (DDP) is preparing a dedicated pavilion that will demonstrate the country’s expanding capabilities in indigenous defence manufacturing.
The pavilion will present advanced solutions developed under the government’s “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiatives, covering a broad spectrum of land systems, naval platforms, aerospace technologies and next-generation innovations. This year’s display aims to give visitors a comprehensive view of India’s progress in defence self-reliance – from large military assets to cutting-edge digital and unmanned technologies.
A total of 16 Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs), along with several leading defence startups, are expected to participate. Their exhibits will feature new-age technologies such as drones, advanced sensors, communication systems, AI-driven platforms and modernised weapon systems. The participation highlights India’s growing momentum in building a competitive and export-ready defence ecosystem.
The 44th IITF carries the theme “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat,” with Jharkhand named as the focus state. Several states, including Bihar, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, will also showcase their industrial strengths during the fair.
For the defence sector, the event provides an important opportunity to demonstrate how India is reducing reliance on imports, enhancing domestic capability and opening new pathways for global collaboration. The pavilion will enable industry experts, foreign buyers and policymakers to witness India’s transformation into a major defence manufacturing hub.
By bringing together DPSUs, innovators and emerging defence-tech startups on one platform, the DDP aims to highlight both legacy strengths and futuristic developments. The exhibition will reflect India’s strategic ambition to scale up domestic production, boost exports and strengthen national security through indigenous technology.
