Government Approves Rs 20,000 Cr Deal For Five Indian Navy Warships

The government has given the go-ahead for a Rs 20,000 crore deal to build fleet support vessels (FSVs), which the Indian Navy needs right away.
Five of the 45,000-ton warships will be made at the defense ministry-owned Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) in Vizag. These will be the biggest ships of their class to be made at the yard.
The Indian Navy said in 2016 that it would need ships that could take fuel and other supplies to warships at sea. This is when the Indian FSV project was given the green light.
The ships are needed to help support warships on long-range patrol. They can take things like fuel, ammunition, and food. They will be able to help all kinds of ships, even the two aircraft carriers from India.
