Ashok Leyland Bags Rs 800 Crore Defence Orders From Indian Army
- The central government wants to make and sell defense products worth Rs 175,000 crore, including Rs 35,000 crore worth of defense exports.

Ashok Leyland said on Monday that the Indian Army had given it defense orders worth Rs 800 crore.
Ashok Leyland is the Indian leader of the Hinduja Group, and the Indian Army gets most of its supply trucks from it.
The company was given orders to buy the Field Artillery Tractor (FAT 44) and the Gun Towing Vehicle (GTV 66).
The Artillery uses special trucks like the FAT 44 and the GTV 66 to pull light and medium guns, respectively. Both of these sites were on the first list of things that the government said were good for indigenization.
Ashok Leyland said in a press statement that it will send these vehicles to the Indian Army over the next 12 months.

The MD and CEO of Ashok Leyland, Shenu Agarwal, said that this shows how committed the company is to giving our armed forces advanced mobility options.
