India’s National Security Advisor (NSA), Ajit Doval, was praised by US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti, who called him a “international treasure.” “India’s NSA has become not only a national treasure, but also an international treasure,” Garcetti said at the United States-India initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET) meet in Delhi.

Garcetti also said that he liked how strong the ties were between India and the US. “When I look at the relationship between the United States and India, it is so strong and clear that Indians love Americans and Americans love Indians.”

Garcetti also said that India’s progress in digital payments was a good thing. He said, “When I look at India’s digital payments and banking technology, I think we have rocked the world. In a town, a “tea wala” makes sure that she gets paid directly by the government on her phone. Each rupee is paid in full.

Garcetti said this about Doval’s humble beginnings: “Ajit Doval, a village boy from Uttarakhand, who is now not only a national treasure but also an international treasure, who had the same vision to come together and say, in the words of NSA Jake Sullivan, “What can we do to change the course of this century and move us forward?”

US NSA Jake Sullivan is in India for two days. He talked with Doval about regional and global problems that both of them cared about. Sullivan had said before that US President Joe Biden is very happy about what is going on in India.

“As we look ahead to PM Modi’s state visit to Washington next week, we can see that some of the things he will bring back are not just bullet points on a page. Instead, they are fundamentally meant to remove barriers in the defense and high-tech trades and to make it easier for our scientists and researchers to work together,” Sullivan said.

The visit by Sullivan to India comes before the state visit by PM Modi to the US.
