15th India-Singapore Defence Policy Dialogue Convenes In Delhi

On Wednesday, this place hosted the 15th India-Singapore Defence Policy Dialogue. During the meeting, both countries looked over their current defense cooperation and agreed to work together more on service-to-service interactions and bilateral drills. The defense ministry said in a statement that Guridhar Aramane, the secretary of defense, and Chan Heng Kee, the permanent secretary of defense in Singapore, led the conversation.

It said that both sides reaffirmed their promise to fully carry out the “Strategic Partnership,” which is based on trust and understanding, shared interests, and ideals of democracy and the rule of law.

“Both sides talked about the current defense cooperation between the two countries and agreed to work together more on Service-to-Service interactions and bilateral exercises.” “They also laid out steps for moving cooperation forward in new areas like cyber security,” the ministry said.

Both sides came up with ways to improve the areas where they already work together, especially when it comes to marine security and working together across borders.

The defense secretary praised Singapore’s work in planning and holding the first ASEAN-India Maritime Exercise in May. Officials say that he also talked about the potential of the local defense industry, which has the capacity and skills to meet Singapore’s needs.
