President Murmu And Prime Minister Modi Extend Heartfelt Wishes To Indian Army On Army Day

On January 15, Army Day, President Droupdai Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent their best wishes to the people who serve in the Indian Army.

While speaking to the Indian Army, the President, who is also the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, said, “I extend my warm felicitations to the Indian Army on the occasion of Army Day 2024.”

“The Indian Army is very important for keeping the country safe.” During wars, counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism missions, as well as national tragedies and disasters, the Indian Army has always been professional. “I admire the men and women of the Indian Army for their outstanding leadership and selfless service,” President Murmu said in her message.

On Monday, PM Modi also spoke to members of the Army and said they are strong and resilient.

In his message to the Indian Army, PM Modi praised the part the army has played in times of war and disaster.

“The brave soldiers of the Indian Army have done their jobs with honor, whether they were fighting off threats from other countries or helping out during natural disasters.” The Indian Army has made a name for itself around the world as a strong and well-trained force, the Prime Minister said.

Army Day is celebrated every year on January 15 to remember when General (later Field Marshal) KM Cariappa took over as Indian Army commander from General Francis Roy Bucher, who was the last British commander-in-chief, in 1949. He was the first Indian commander-in-chief after India got its independence.
