The Royal Armed Forces of Morocco, a country in North Africa, are about to buy 92 six-wheeled military trucks made by the private sector in India. This is a big step toward improving diplomatic relations between India and Morocco.
Tata Advanced System is the company that made these trucks. In a report, the Indian Defense Research Wing (IDRW) said these things.
Morocco’s decision to buy military trucks made by TATA and strengthen its ties with India may come as a surprise to Pakistan, which praised the Arab country’s victory over global football powerhouse Portugal in the recent FIFA World Cup as a “victory of Islam.”
On Sunday, the Moroccan army said on the social media site Twitter that the Indian military trucks were “about to be delivered.”
The IDRW shared photos on social media that showed 92 LPTA 244 six-wheeled trucks that were ready to be shipped to Morocco from India’s west coast Port Pipavav.
On the Military Africa website, the trucks are described as being able to be turned into armoured vehicles and used in many different ways.
The purchase of military trucks from India is part of Morocco’s plan to buy arms from different countries in order to strengthen and update its military with the latest technology.
In December 2022, the American company L3Harris Technologies said it had signed a $29 million deal with Morocco to give the African country a “smart weapon release system” to improve the firepower of the F-16 fighter planes it used.
Morocco improving ties with US, Israel
Morocco has been working to improve military cooperation with the US and Israel, which have some of the strongest armies in the world.
When Morocco made it to the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan said it was a win for a “Muslim team.”
A lot of people in Pakistan, besides Imran Khan, saw Morocco’s victory as a “victory of Islam,” but Imran Khan was not one of them.
