Rajnath Singh Urges Troops: Learn From Mistakes To Safeguard Countrymen

Story Highlights

  • The army has asked for a "thorough internal investigation" into the deaths of civilians and has promised to fully back and work with the investigators.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on Wednesday that troops keep the country safe, but mistakes do happen, which should not. He seemed to be referring to the fact that three civilians were found dead after being held by the army to be questioned. Singh came to Jammu and Kashmir earlier in the day to check on the security situation. He said that it was up to the troops to win over the hearts of the people while doing their job to protect the country.

“You are the country’s guardians.” In addition to being responsible for the safety of the country, you also have to win the hearts of the people who live there. You are also trying to go in this way, but mistakes do happen (chook). “These kinds of mistakes shouldn’t happen because they could hurt any citizen of the country,” Singh told the troops in Rajouri.

The reason Singh is in Rajouri and Jammu for the day is because of a terrorist attack in Poonch.

People are furious about the killing of three civilians in Poonch district on December 22. It is said that they were killed after being arrested by security forces for questioning in connection with an attack on two army vehicles the day before, which killed four troops.

The government of Jammu and Kashmir said on Saturday that the families of the civilians who died would be getting money and work. They also said that the medical and legal procedures had been completed and that legal action had been begun in the case.

The army has asked for a “thorough internal investigation” into the deaths of civilians and has promised to fully back and work with the investigators.

Singh said that people must be won over in order to win a war and put an end to evil. “We will win any type of war and we will finish off terrorism as well, but at the same time we have to win the hearts of the people – and it is a big responsibility on your shoulders.”

In the eyes of the rest of the world, the Indian army is not like any other army!

“People think the Indian army is stronger now than it was before.” It’s better equipped now than it was before. “You are the ones who keep the country safe,” the minister told the troops.
