Avani Chaturvedi’s Education

Squadron leader Avani Chaturvedi was born in Madhya Pradesh and grew up there. She also went to school there. She got her Bachelor’s degree in Technology from Vidyapith, a university in the Tonk area of rural Rajasthan that offers the most advanced programs. Chaturvedi went to the campus flight school to learn more about aviation while she was getting her B.Tech.

Chaturvedi wanted to be a fighter pilot at a time when many people in the IAF were still not sure about having women in the air force, let alone as fighter pilots. But Avani’s defense family gave her their full support to help her reach her goal. Now, hundreds of thousands of young girls are inspired to fly high in the sky and leave behind the idea that fighting is only for men.

Avani Chaturvedi’s Training

Before Chaturvedi joined the IAF jet squadron, she spent six months training hard at the Air Force Academy in Dundigal, Hyderabad.

Chaturvedi Continues To Achieve

Squadron leader Avani Chaturvedi was the first female IAF pilot to take part in a war game outside of India. She did this in January 2023 when she took part in Veer Guardian 2023, which took place from January 16 to January 26 at the Hyakuri Air Base and the airspace around it in Omitama, Japan, and at the Iruma Air Base in Sayama.

Avani Chaturvedi Received Nari Shakti Puraskar

In 2020, President Ram Nath Kovind gave Avani Chaturvedi, Bhawana Kanth, and Mohana Singh the Nari Shakti Puraskar. They were the first Indian women to fly a MIG-21 Bison as a fighter pilot.
