IAF sources said on Saturday that the Indian Air Force is working on a project to make an in-house jammer pod for the LCA Mark 1A fighter plane.

“IAF’s Base Repair Depots have been tasked to indigenise many of the equipment required on its fighter and transport aircraft and other weapon systems and cut down imports,” people said.

Colonel Vikram, Vice President of Solar Group Economic Explosives Limited, said that the multimode hand grenade is the first product that a private industry made in India and gave to the Indian Army that wasn’t made by ordinance companies.

“We have already made 10 lakh of them and properly handed them over to the Indian Army.” The hand grenade device shown here is very safe and high-tech. There are also more safety measures on it, and it works much better than the old HE 36 hand grenade.

“It is very well received by the Indian Army and we are expecting the next order soon,” he said.

The LCA Mk1A is a better version of the LCA MK1, which was made in the United States. It has more functions and is better in many ways, like having a Self Protection Jammer.
