Even though the war of words between the US and China and the border tensions between India and China are being watched around the world, the armies of the three countries got together today in Mongolia for a multinational exercise called “Exercise Khaan Quest-2023.”
Almost 20 countries are taking part in the practice, which started today. These countries include South Korea, Japan, and Australia.
President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh started the drill, which was put on by the Mongolian Armed Forces (MAF) and the United States Army Pacific Command (USARPAC). At the “Five Hills Training Area” near the Mongolian capital, more than 1,100 military members are taking part in the 19th round of the drill. The 14-day event is meant to help the countries that are taking part work better together, share their experiences, and train people for United Nations Peacekeeping Operations (UNPKO).
The Garhwal Rifles send a group to stand in for the Indian Army. The Ministry of Defence said, “The drill will train participants for future UN peacekeeping missions, build skills for peace operations, and improve military readiness. The practice includes combat discussions, lectures and demonstrations.”
