Exercise Tarang Shakti-24, one of the Indian Air Force’s biggest multinational air exercises, is currently taking place in Jodhpur. In conjunction with this event, the IAF will also be hosting the India Defence Aviation Exposition IDAX-24, which will be officially opened today by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
The upcoming IDAX event in Jodhpur, running from today through Saturday, is set to showcase an impressive array of products and technologies with a strong industry presence. Attendees, including FFCs and Indian audiences, will have the chance to engage with players from various sectors of the Indian Aviation Industry, such as DPSUs, DRDO, Private Industries (Tier-I, II, III) and leading Start-Ups. It’s an exciting opportunity to witness and experience firsthand what these organizations have to offer.
The goal of IDAX is to highlight the talents and resilience of the Indian Aviation Industries to a diverse group of decision-makers and end users from various Global Air Forces taking part in Tarang Shakti 2024.
The involvement of foreign countries in the exposition will assist India’s Aerospace industry in pursuing export opportunities, becoming part of the supply chain for overseas Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and fostering partnerships for co-production or co-development of India’s Defence requirements.
The participation of IAF’s Directorate of Aerospace Design, alongside partner startups, in the exposition will feature a range of cutting-edge technologies and products. These include an RF Gun for countering unmanned aerial threats, High Altitude Pseudo-Satellite (HAPS), Loitering ammunition, Air-launched Flexible assets, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR) smart glasses for training, Expandable Active Decoys, Real-time aircrew health monitoring systems, and Foldable field mats for quick runway repair. These offerings showcase the impressive growth and potential of India’s aerospace sector.
The lAF is actively involved in fostering and supporting innovators, startups, and MSMEs by identifying, developing, and implementing novel solutions. Under the guidance of the Directorate of Aerospace Design, these entities are being directed towards creating advanced technologies that meet the future needs of the lAF. This effort also supports the government’s initiative towards promoting self-reliance.
The Exposition provides an ideal opportunity for Aviation and Defence Sector Industrial Partners to engage with IAF’s Innovation Directorate and decision-makers, as well as view a showcase of locally-made products.
