Army Chief Gen Pande Embarks On Four-Day US Trip
- During the IPACC, Gen. George and Gen. Pande had a good conversation about a lot of different military cooperation problems.
- The Indian Army and the US Army both want peace, democracy, and stability in all parts of the world.
The Army called Gen. Pande’s visit from February 13–16 “significant” and said it showed that the two countries are working together more closely on military issues.
The Chief of Army Staff will talk and meet with Gen. Randy George, who is the Chief of Staff of the US Army, and other top American military leaders.
“This visit underscores the deepening military cooperation and strategic partnership between India and the United States, aiming to further strengthen defence cooperation and foster stronger bonds between the armies of both nations,” the Army stated.
A ceremony with the US Army Honor Guard, a serious laying of the wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery, and a full tour of the Pentagon are some of the best parts of the trip.
The Army said these actions show that both countries value and care about world peace and security.
“This visit is another milestone in the Indo-US defence relationship, reflecting a mutual desire to enhance military collaboration, exchange strategic perspectives on global threat perceptions, and work together toward future force development and modernisation,” it stated.
“The engagements between General Manoj Pande and senior leadership of the United States Army are poised to yield substantive outcomes, fostering an environment conducive to shared security interests and defence cooperation,” it stated.
Officials say that people will share their thoughts on important issues like how to change the Indian Army, how to see the global threat, how to develop and modernize the future forces, and how to start co-production and co-development projects.
They said that the goal of these talks is for both forces to share their thoughts, ideas, and the best ways to do things.
Gen. Pande is going to the Army Geospatial Center at Fort Belvoir, the National Defense University at Fort McNair, and Headquarters 1 Corps to meet with the leadership.
He will also work with the Stryker Unit, the 1st Multi-Domain Task Force, the first Special Forces Group in Seattle, and the Defense Innovation Unit in San Francisco. These are groups that are at the cutting edge of military strategy and new ideas.
An Army statement says that the visit will include a stop at the California National Guard to show how broad it is and to look for ways to work together on bigger training, development, and production projects.
Gen. George just got back from a trip to India for the Indo-Pacific Army Chiefs Conference (IPACC), which was held by both the Indian Army and the US Army.
18 Chiefs of Armies and the heads of delegations from 12 countries were at the meeting.
During the IPACC, Gen. George and Gen. Pande had a good conversation about a lot of different military cooperation problems.
“The Indian Army and the US Army both want peace, democracy, and stability in all parts of the world.” The Army said, “This tour is a great example of how India and the US share values and interests that make their partnership strong. They want to work together even more and grow together in the defense and security areas in the future.”
