Officials say that on Monday, police brought charges against two terrorists who were arrested here over 13 years ago while coming back from Pakistan through Nepal. A police official said that the chargesheet against Abdul Waris of Kishtwar and Masrat Hussain of Doda was filed in the court of the 3rd additional sessions judge (NIA), Jammu. The case was registered against them under different parts of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Ranbir Penal Code.

He said that a case was opened against them on October 25, 2010, at the Banu Fort police station. This was after they were caught at the Jammu train station with ₹50,000 each and anti-national materials that included printed letterpads from terrorist groups that are illegal.

They admitted that they had crossed the Line of Control illegally from Poonch district, lived in Pakistan for more than ten years, and learned how to use weapons while being questioned, the spokesman said.

He said that the leaders of the banned Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) told them to go back to Jammu and Kashmir through Nepal to join terrorist groups there.
