Terrorists Attack Peshawar Paramilitary Headquarters, 2 Security Personnel Killed

Suicide bomber blows himself up at main gate; armed militants attempt to storm FC headquarters

Peshawar once again witnessed a major terror strike on Monday after militants launched a coordinated assault on the Frontier Constabulary (FC) headquarters, leaving two security personnel dead and several others injured.

The attack began when a suicide bomber detonated his explosives at the front gate of the FC compound, creating a powerful blast that killed two guards on duty. Moments after the explosion, additional militants armed with rifles attempted to enter the premises, sparking a fierce exchange of gunfire.

Security forces immediately engaged the attackers, preventing them from reaching the inner buildings. The area echoed with gunshots as reinforcements from police and paramilitary units arrived to assist in the counter-operation.

According to preliminary reports, multiple militants were killed during the operation as the FC launched a swift clearing action inside the compound. Emergency services transported the injured personnel to nearby hospitals, where several remain under medical care.

Authorities cordoned off the entire zone and conducted a detailed sweep to ensure no remaining threats were present. Officials have not yet confirmed which group is behind the attack, but the incident comes during a period of increasing militant activity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The assault highlights ongoing security challenges faced by Pakistan’s law enforcement agencies amid a resurgence of extremist networks in the region.
