Jammu And Kashmir: Second Terrorist Eliminated As Rajouri Encounter Extends Into Day 2

Officials say that since Tuesday, two terrorists have been killed by security forces in an ongoing battle in the remote Narla area of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir. On Wednesday, a third terrorist was shot and killed by security forces in the same area.

“The second terrorist has been killed, and the operation is still going on,” said Mukesh Singh, who is the assistant director general of police for the Jammu zone.

Tuesday’s fight killed a person who was thought to be a bomber from Pakistan. During the gunfight, an army member and Kent, a female Labrador who was six years old and part of the army’s dog unit, both died. Three security guards were hurt. Two guards and a special police officer are among those who were hurt.

Even though it was raining, security forces spent the night putting up a strong cordon around the area 75 km from Rajouri town. In the morning, they expanded the search to other areas nearby.

On September 6, security forces stopped two terrorists from getting through the Line of Control (LoC) in the Mandi area of Poonch district and killed them.

On September 4, a fight broke out in the Chassana area of Reasi district. During the fight, a terrorist was killed and a police officer was hurt.
