Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi said that the Indian Navy must always be ready for battle to protect national naval interests. This is because China is expanding its presence in the Indian Ocean and things are getting unstable in the Red Sea. He talked in detail about the current security situation in the strategic waters and what the Navy needs to do to fix it in a speech to officers stationed at this military headquarters.

He said that the “raison d’ĂȘtre” of the Indian Navy, which is the main way that India’s maritime power is shown, is to be “combat ready at all times to safeguard national maritime interests anytime, anywhere, anyhow.”

In his speech to the officers on Tuesday, the Navy chief said again that the Indian Navy is fully behind the government’s “Aatma Nirbharta” (self-reliance) plan.

To stay a responsive force, Admiral Tripathi stressed the importance of coming up with answers in-house, being creative, and using niche technologies to deal with new and existing problems in the maritime domain.

He told the middle and high-level leaders at naval headquarters that they needed to keep their attention on being “the solution providers” and “prioritizing outcomes” to make the Navy ready for battle, credible, cohesive, and ready for the future.
