Navy’s MiG-29K Aircraft Incident Disrupts Operations: Passenger Flights Affected
- The airport at Dabolim is part of the naval base INS Hansa. It is in the South Goa district. During certain times of the day, naval planes use the facility.
- Some flights were sent to the Manohar International Airport in Mopa instead," said S.V.T. Dhanamjaya, director of Dabolim airport.
They said that an Indian Navy fighter plane’s tire blew out on the taxiway at the Dabolim airport in Goa on December 26 afternoon, right before it was supposed to leave on a routine mission.
The MiG-29K plane got stuck on the taxiway because a tire burst, but no one was hurt. Because of what happened, the airport’s runway was closed to operations until 4 pm, which meant that passenger flights could not operate, the authorities said.
“The plane’s tire burst while it was on the taxiway before its regular flight.” “Right away after that, the fire department and other services were called to help,” a navy spokesperson said.
He said that the single-pilot plane would be moved off of the taxiway.
