Make In India Triumph: Indian Navy Unveils Second Indigenous Missile Cum Ammunition Barge

The ministry of defense said that Cmde G Ravi, Warship Production Superintendent (Visakhapatnam), launched the Second Missile Cum Ammunition (MCA) Barge, Yard 76 (LSAM 8) on Friday.

At Guttenadeevi, East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh, the Ammunition Barge was put into action.

The government said in a statement, “This Barge is the proud flag bearer of the Make in India initiative of the Ministry of Defence. All major and auxiliary equipment and systems were made in India.”

“Contract for construction of 08 x MCA Barge was signed with M/s SECON Engineering Projects Pvt Ltd, Visakhapatnam, an MSME, in line with “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” initiatives of the Government of India,” it said.

It said that this barge would be made to last for 30 years.
