Indian Army Recovers Huge Cache Of Weapons, Ammunition From Manipur

A massive cache of weapons and ammunition was discovered during a joint operation carried out by the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, Manipur Police, and other security forces across multiple districts in Manipur over the past week.

The forces conducted intelligence-based joint operations in both the hill and valley regions of Manipur. The close coordination and synergy of the various security forces resulted in the recovery of 12 weapons, ammunition, and war-like supplies.

On October 15, the Indian Army and Manipur Police launched a search and recovery operation in the Leirongthel Pitra area, which is on the outskirts of Thoubal district. They found one AK-56 rifle, one SLR, one Carbine Machine Gun, one single-barrel rifle, one pistol, grenades, ammunition, and other war-related items.

Similarly, on October 16, the Assam Rifles and Manipur Police conducted an intelligence-based operation near Cannan Veng village in Churachandpur district, recovering one. 303 rifle, five single-barrel rifles, one 9mm pistol, ammunition, and other war-related items.
