India Will Not Tolerate Provocations in Sir Creek, Warns Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

Border Forces in Gujarat Placed on High Vigil Amid Rising Security Concerns

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has issued a stern warning to Pakistan, stating that any attempt to provoke or violate Indian territory in the Sir Creek region will be met with a “swift and decisive” military response.

While interacting with security personnel during his visit to the forward areas of Kutch in Gujarat, Singh underlined that India’s territorial integrity is non-negotiable. He praised the Indian Army, Navy, Coast Guard and Border Security Force (BSF) for maintaining constant surveillance in one of the most difficult coastal zones in the country.

“India believes in peaceful coexistence,” he said, “but our commitment to peace should never be mistaken for weakness.”

Sir Creek – a marshy strip at the India-Pakistan border – has long been a point of contention due to its strategic position and access to rich fishing grounds. Recent intelligence inputs of increased Pakistani movements in the area have prompted stricter patrolling along both land and maritime routes.

The Defence Minister assured local communities that the government is fully aware of the evolving threats along the western coastline. He added that modern surveillance equipment, faster response units and enhanced coordination between forces have significantly strengthened India’s deterrence posture in the region.

With tensions periodically flaring along the border, the Minister’s warning serves as a clear reminder that India is prepared for any eventuality in Sir Creek – whether by infiltration, smuggling or territorial encroachment.
