The Indian Air Force’s group has 5 MiG-29 fighter jets, 2 IL-78 air-to-air refueling aircrafts, 2 C-130, and 2 C-17 transport aircrafts. It also has men from the IAF’s Garud Special Forces and Squadrons 28, 77, 78, and 81.
Also, IAF cargo planes will fly the about 150 people from the Indian Army.
The MoD press release says that the goal of the drill is to practice planning and carrying out joint operations.
“These interactions not only help people connect across borders, but they also help strengthen strategic ties between the countries that take part,” says the release.
India and Egypt have had a strong and special bond for a long time.
During the 1960s, the two countries worked together to improve aero-engines and aircraft. This made it easier for Egyptian pilots to be trained by their Indian peers.
Recent visits by the Chiefs of Air Forces of both countries, as well as the Indian Defense Minister and Prime Minister, have strengthened this connection.
