The second shipment of six J-10C fighter aircraft, known by the Pakistani Air Force as the “Dragon from the East,” has arrived in Pakistan from China.
Pakistani local media reports, the second shipment of six J-10C fighter jets from China has landed, bringing the total number of these aircraft to 12.
Pakistan Strategic Forum tweeted to corroborate the occurrence, “Additional (2nd Batch) 6x J-10C have been delivered to the Pakistan Air Force, bringing the total number of J-10C delivered to date to 12. This news was confirmed by local media in Pakistan (92 News). Previously, serial numbers 22-101 to 22-106 (6x J-10C) were supplied; however, if the report is accurate, serial numbers 22-107 to 22-112 will now be sent.”
The Pakistan Strategic Forum (PSF) is a free-standing think tank that is staffed by researchers from around the world.
Six J-10C fighter aircraft from the first batch were delivered to the Pakistan Air Force in March of this year.
“Unfortunately, efforts are being made to create an imbalance in the region, and to address this, a substantial addition has been made today to our defence system,” then-Prime Minister Imran Khan had remarked at the time.
Khan was making reference to India’s purchase of Rafale combat aircraft.
