In preparation for Independence Day on August 15, the Border Security Force will run Operation Alert from August 11 to August 17 along the India-Pakistan International Border. This will stop people from sneaking into India or out of Pakistan. During this time, the BSF will keep a close eye on the area near where India and Pakistan meet. Inspector General of Border Security Force (Rajasthan Frontier), Puneet Rastogi, said that the number of security checkpoints will go up and that there will be more camel patrols and foot patrols.

He said that the BSF is more careful before Independence Day.

Even though the BSF is always on guard at the border, Rastogi said that the border guarding force is more on guard now and that jawans will be sent to sensitive places during this time.
