BSF Chief Assesses Security Situation Along The J-K International Border

An official said that BSF Director General Nitin Agrawal went to the International Border in the Samba area of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. He was told how ready the troops are to stop drone attacks and smuggling from Pakistan. A BSF spokesman said that Agrawal arrived at the force’s border headquarters in Jammu on Monday. He will be there for three days to look at the security situation along the International Border in the Union Territory.

Inspector General of the force’s Jammu frontier D K Boora gave a thorough presentation to the BSF chief about border security and dominance along the International Border and the Line of Control (LoC) on Tuesday morning at the Jammu frontier headquarters, he said. The presentation covered all of the most important parts of border security and dominance along the International Border and the LoC.

During his trip to Samba, the BSF DG was told about new threats to the force’s members, such as Pakistan-based groups digging tunnels and smuggling things across the border.

In two separate events on July 25 and 31, the BSF shot and killed two Pakistani intruders in the Ramgarh sector of Samba and the Arnia sector of Jammu.

The dead attacker in Ramgarh was found to have more than 4 kg of heroin and some Pakistani money on him.

“Pakistan’s drone threats from the other side of the border have been given special attention,” the spokesperson said, adding that the director general of the BSF was also shown the force’s plan for dominating the entire International Border.

He said that in the evening, Agrawal went to a “Prahari Sammelan” and praised the Jammu frontier for keeping the highest level of professionalism and successfully controlling the border.
