Saturday, Army Chief General Manoj Pande gave the prestigious “President’s Standards” to four Armoured regiments of the Indian Army at an event at the Suratgarh military station in Rajasthan’s Sriganganagar district.

A defense spokesperson said that the President’s Standard, also called the “Nishan,” was given to the 49 Armoured Regiment, the 51 Armoured Regiment, the 53 Armoured Regiment, and the 54 Armoured Regiment during the Standards Presentation Parade.

Gen. Pande told the program that the modern and professional Indian Mechanized Forces are always ready to face new challenges and are committed to protecting the country from all threats, a spokesperson said.

A smaller military formation or unit is given the President’s Standard, which is the same honor as the President’s Colours.

A spokesperson said that Gen. Pande praised the regiments that got the prestigious award for doing great work.
