Vijay Kumar, the Additional Director General of Police in Kashmir, said on Tuesday that Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Uzair Khan was one of the two terrorists killed in a seven-day gunfight in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag area. Four security workers, including two army officers and a police officer, were killed in the gunfight, which Mr. Kumar said is over.

“So far, the body of Uzair Khan, the leader of the LeT, has been found. “The dead body of another terrorist can be seen, but it hasn’t been possible to get to it yet,” the ADGP told media in Anantnag.

He said that the gunfight, which started last Wednesday in the Gadole forest area of the south Kashmir district, is over, but the search operation will go on.

“A huge area still needs to be searched. There may be a lot of shells that haven’t gone off yet. These will be found and removed. “We’re asking people not to go there,” he said.
