World Listens Attentively To India, Says Defence Minister
- Rajnath said that as society moved toward progress and prosperity, the feudal system and way of thinking were becoming less important.
- As representatives of the people, they will definitely bring up problems that are important to their district.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on Sunday that the idea of a developed India is no longer just a dream, but is quickly becoming a reality thanks to the work of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“In the last nine years, India’s reputation has grown on the world stage, and people now pay close attention when we speak,” he told a group of successful UPSC Civil Services Exam hopefuls at an event in Lucknow.
Rajnath pointed out that the United States, a superpower, was getting ready to welcome and meet the Prime Minister of India, and that the foreign media was also talking about the success story of the country.
He talked about the PM’s plan for India to be a “Developed India” by 2047 and said that young civil workers are very important to making this happen.
“You have a huge duty to carry. You will serve when the country has moved into the Amrit Kaal. “When you finish your term in 2047, the country will be celebrating its 100th year of independence,” he said.
“I want you to be ready for the difficulties that are coming. The Defense Minister said, “Together, we can face them and put India on the path to becoming a developed country.”
He told government workers that the best way to earn people’s trust was to meet their hopes and goals and to work with them. He said that people would have a lot more faith in democracy if officials talked to the public more often.
Rajnath said that as society moved toward progress and prosperity, the feudal system and way of thinking were becoming less important. In this situation, he said, bureaucrats and leaders would be judged by how well they met the hopes and expectations of the people.
“There used to be a culture of authority in society, but now there is a culture of justification instead. This is because people are becoming more educated and aware because of new ways to communicate,” he said.
He emphasized the role of people’s representatives in day-to-day governance and democracy. He also said that civil servants should listen carefully to the suggestions made by public representatives and act on them, because in a democracy, the people’s representatives are the people’s hopes and dreams.
He said it was wrong for politicians to meddle too much in local government, but he asked for help from the people’s officials because they spoke for the average people in the country.
“As representatives of the people, they will definitely bring up problems that are important to their district. “That’s why you need to work closely with the people’s representatives in your area,” he said.
He was very impressed by how well women had done on civil service tests in recent years. “Whenever they had the chance, our daughters have brought us honors,” he said.
