Ukraine has again hit the Russian naval base in Sevastopol, Crimea, dealing another blow to Russia’s naval assets.

This attack comes after a number of Ukrainian military strikes on Russian naval bases in the Black Sea area.

The attack on the Sevastopol military base, on the other hand, is the most important thing the Russian Navy has done so far. Ukrainian military intelligence says that the attack hurt a modern Russian Kilo 636.3 class submarine, most likely the ‘Rostov-on-Don’.

Also, Ukrainian sources say that a landing ship from the Ropucha class called “Minsk” that was used to move troops has also been damaged.

This attack could have a big effect on the mood of Russian troops in the area.

The damage to the ‘Rostov-on-Don’ submarine is especially important because it is one of five modern Kilo-class submarines in the Russian Black Sea Fleet that can fire long-range Kalibr cruise missiles.

At the time of the attack, both the troop ship and the submarine were said to be in dry dock for maintenance.

Sky News, a British news source, says that the attack was done with Storm Shadow missiles that the British gave to Ukraine as part of a package of weapons aid.

Some reports, quoting Ukrainian intelligence officials, say that both the ‘Minsk’ troop carrier and the ‘Rostov-on-Don’ submarine may be too damaged to be fixed.

The Indian Air Force also uses SCALP-EG, which is a form of the Storm Shadow missile.

The French made SCALP-EG missiles, which are a version of the Storm Shadow missile made by the European company MBDA.

These missiles came from France as part of the deal for 36 Rafale fighter jets, which was signed in 2016.

Even though the exact range of the rocket is not known, it is thought to be able to hit high-value targets from 300 to 500 kilometers away.

The Russian Defense Ministry says that the Ukrainians attacked the Black Sea navy shipyard early in the morning with 10 cruise missiles and three unmanned speedboats, damaging two military ships that were being fixed there.

The Ukrainians also went after a second Russian military port in Novorossiysk, Krasnodar, last month.

During the attack on August 4, another landing ship from the Ropucha class, called “Olenegorskiy Gornyak,” was sunk. Kamikaze unmanned surface vessels (USV) were allegedly used in the attack.

The Ukrainians have been using more and more low-cost, unmanned ships with explosives on board to attack expensive and valuable things like ships, bridges, and subs.

In June, a month before the attack on Krasnodar, the Ukrainians hit the Kerch rail-road bridge that connects the Russian shore to Crimea. They may have done this with an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) made in Britain.
