- The Central Bureau of Investigation, and the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Eastern Command of the Indian Army to be involved in the case.
- He also told the West Bengal Police's criminal investigation department to start the first investigation based on the charges in the plea.
Justice Rajasekhar Mantha, who is the only judge on the single judge bench at the Calcutta High Court, has been asked to look into a claim that two Pakistanis got jobs in the armed forces by making fake papers.
In the petition, two people called Jaikant Kumar and Pradyumna Kumar are said to be from Pakistan. They are currently stationed at the defense cantonment at Barrackpore in the North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. The person who filed the plea is named Bishnu Chowdhury. He lives in the Hooghly district.
In his petition, Chowdhury says that the two got their jobs by making up documents to get through the Staff Selection Commission test and get the jobs. He had also said that fake documents were used as part of a big scheme involving powerful politicians, bureaucrats, and police officers.
Justice Mantha’s court heard about the case on Tuesday, and he said that if the petitioner’s claims are true, it is a very dangerous situation.
“This is a very important issue for the safety and security of the whole country. Justice Mantha said, “If the charges are true, it’s possible that Pakistan’s top intelligence agency, ISI, is involved in the case. ISI is trying to plant spies in the Indian military,” he said.
He also told the Union government, the Central Bureau of Investigation, and the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Eastern Command of the Indian Army to be involved in the case.
He also told the West Bengal Police’s criminal investigation department to start the first investigation based on the charges in the plea. The next time this will be talked about in court is on June 26.
