NSA Ajit Doval Meets Vladimir Putin For Ukraine Peace Plan

Ajit Doval, the National Security Adviser, had a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday during the BRICS National Security Advisers’ gathering. A photo, posted by the Russian Embassy in India on X, captured the two exchanging a handshake.
NSA Doval’s recent trip to Russia took place roughly two weeks after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s groundbreaking visit to Ukraine. During the latter, PM Modi proposed bringing both Ukraine and Russia together in order to put an end to the ongoing conflict, expressing India’s willingness to play an active part in restoring peace within the region.

According to a statement released on Telegram by the Russian Embassy, Mr. Putin has suggested a bilateral meeting with PM Modi on October 22 during the BRICS summit. The purpose of the meeting is to review the progress made in implementing the agreements reached during Mr. Putin’s visit to Moscow and to discuss future prospects.
Mr. Doval’s trip to Russia had a primary objective of addressing the ongoing tension between Russia and Ukraine. It was mentioned that he was in possession of PM Modi’s proposed peace plan for President Putin.
During the discussions, the Russian leader shared his anticipation for PM Modi’s participation in the upcoming BRICS summit in Kazan, which is scheduled for next month.
