NIA Nabs Second Suspect In Manipur’s Bishnupur Bomb Blast Case from July

Thursday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested a second person of interest in connection with a July bombing in Manipur, which has been hit by violence.

Collectively with the Manipur Police, the central agency arrested Md. Islauddin Khan in connection with the June 21 bomb blast in Kwakta, Bishnupur district, which happened in a Scorpio car. NIA registered the case again on June 23 in Imphal, after the first registration by Manipur Police at Moirang in Bishnupur.

As stated in an agency press release, “NIA investigations revealed that Md. Islauddin was involved in the bomb blast that occurred on June 21 in an IED-laden Scorpio vehicle parked over a bridge located in the area of Phougakchao Ikhai Awang Leikai and Kwakta along Tiddim road in Bishnupur district.”

In an operation that started on Monday, the NIA and the Assam Police nabbed the main suspect in the blast case. Police nabbed Mohammad Noor Hussain in the Cachar district of Assam.
