J&K Light Infantry Regiment’s First Agniveer Batch Completes Training

The first group of Agniveers in the J&K Light Infantry Regiment finished their tough training on Saturday, according to the Indian Army.

“To mark this historic event, a fitting ceremony was held at the JAK LI Regimental Centre’s Nongrum Auditorium,” said PRO (Defense), Srinagar. “Their parents and mentors, who had been with them throughout their 31-week training, were there to see it.”

Agnipath is a program where people who are chosen will become Agniveers for a four-year time. After 4 years, Agniveers will be focused, active, and skilled enough to work in other areas. Depending on what the organization needs, Agniveers will be given the chance to apply for a regular cadre position. Up to 25% of Agni Volunteers will be chosen to join the Armed Forces as regular troops.

In April of this year, the Ministry of Home Affairs agreed to give 10% of the 1,29,929 general duty constable positions in the Central Reserve Police Force to former Agnivesers.

“In accordance with the powers given by section 18 of the Central Reserve Police Force Act, 1949 (66 of 1949), and in place of the Central Reserve Police Force Group ‘C’ (General Duty/Technical/Tradesmen) Cadre Recruitment Rules, 2010, insofar as they apply to the post of (General Duty Cadre) Constable, except for things that were done or left undone before the rules were replaced, the Central Government makes the following rules:
