Indian Navy Gets Its First Missile Cum Ammunation Barge Improves Operational Preparedness
- China's People's Liberation Army Navy is becoming more interested in the Indo-Pacific region and the South China Sea.
- These things come from the United States and include the Boeing P-8I Poseidon plane and unmanned aerial vehicles like the IAI Heron-1 and predator drones.
Indian Navy Rear Admiral Sandeep Mehta, ACWP&A, launched Yard 75 (LSAM7) from Guttenadeevi, the launch site of SECON at Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. The MCA barge is a proud example of the Ministry of Defence’s “Make in India” initiative. All of the major auxiliary equipment and systems were made in India.
In line with the Atamnirbhar Bharat initiatives of the Indian government, a contract was made with SECON, Visakhapatnam, an MSME, to build the 08X MCA barge. The barge will last for 30 years.
The availability of MCA barges will help the Indian Navy meet its operational goals by making it easier to transport, load, and unload equipment and ammunition onto and off of Indian Navy ships at jetties and in other harbours. Eight of these barges are being built, and when they are done, they will be given to the Indian Navy.
Modernisation Of Indian Navy
The Indian Navy is always working to improve its operational abilities in line with modern methods of war. The Indian Navy has added many ships, warships, and planes to its fleet and placed orders for more. In order to fight future battles, modern warfare needs modern technology. The Navy has two modern aircraft carriers, INS Vikrant and INS Vikramaditya, working together.

The navy also wants to add planes to its fleet. Both the FA-18 Super Hornet and the Rafael Marine are in the running for the naval aircraft programme. To make the Indian Navy stronger, it will also get new, high-tech planes like the twin-engine deck-based fighters. The Indian Navy will become one of the strongest in the world because of this.
The Indian Navy is also getting modern missile systems and AI to help them fight smarter wars in the future. It is changing the way it is set up so that its troops can be ready to fight with the latest technology. This will help them use modern weapons that come from other countries or are made in India with the help of joint ventures.
The Indian Navy will have an advantage over its neighbours with these new weapons and systems. It will also help fight off threats from a long way away. The Indian Navy also uses modern submarines with ballistic missiles. These include the Arihant class and the Chakra class.
China’s People’s Liberation Army Navy is becoming more interested in the Indo-Pacific region and the South China Sea. Because of this, the Indian Navy has decided to invest in anti-submarine ships and long-range maritime reconnaissance aircraft.
