Indian Army Takes Delivery Of First Batch Of Toyota Hilux

The Indian Army has gotten its first batch of Toyota Hilux trucks as part of its plans to update its fleet and improve its ability to move people and things.

The Army’s Northern Command tweeted that Lt Gen AnindyaSengupta got the first set of Toyota Hilux – Mountain off-Road Vehicles from Mr V Wiseline Sigamani, General Manager Strategic Business Unit (North). The vehicles had been tested for a long time in bad weather and rough terrain.

The car had to be tested on rough terrain and in bad weather as part of the pre-delivery technical assessment. These included places with a high altitude (13,000 ft) and temperatures below zero.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor gave the MRVs to the company. Mahindra & Mahindra just got an order from the military for 1,850 Scorpio Classics.

The Hilux is known for being good at going off-road. It has four-wheel drive, a low-range gearbox, good maneuverability on rough ground, and can go through 700 mm of water.

The model has a 2.8-liter diesel engine, and you can choose between a manual and an automatic drive.

The Indian military is in the process of getting rid of the old Maruti Gypsy vehicles that have been used for many years. The Army hopes that the new cars will bring in the next era of transportation.

The military is also thinking about adding electric cars. The Indian Air Force (IAF) just bought 12 Tata Nexon electric vehicles (EVs).
