Indian Army Places Order For More SIG716 Rifles

SIG SAUER, Inc. has recently entered into its second agreement with the Indian government, specifically with the Ministry of Defence, for the provision of 73,000 more SIG716 rifles. This will bring the total number of these rifles in the possession of the Indian Army to 145,400, a significant achievement in terms of modernizing their military arsenal.
The partnership between SIG SAUER and the Indian Army was established in 2019 when the Ministry of Defence procured an initial batch of 72,400 SIG716 rifles. The soldiers were impressed by the rifles’ outstanding performance and dependability during operations, prompting a decision to enhance the equipment of the Indian Armed Forces with a significant additional order.

It is not only utilized by the Indian Army, but also by the United States Armed Forces.
