Former Navy Chief Vice Admiral Satish N. Ghormade said that the Indian Navy will place mobile coastal batteries with BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles in key spots across the maritime zone to defend against threats from both the east and the west.
The Defense Ministry recently made a deal with BrahMos Aerospace to clear mobile coastal missile batteries.
A day after he retired, Ghormade said, “We will be able to put the Next Gen Mobile Missile Coastal Batteries in strategic places so that any threat from the east or west can be tracked and stopped.” The BrahMos-Equipped Maritime Mobile Coastal Batteries is a joint project between people from the same country. This gives us the ability to attack land and attack ships, both of which are very important for the maritime security of the country.
BrahMos missile batteries, which will have supersonic BrahMos missiles, will start to be sent out in 2027. The Indian Navy will be able to attack from many different directions at sea thanks to this purchase.
