Aero India 2027 Dates Announced: Bengaluru to Host Major Aerospace and Defence Show in February

India is preparing to host the next edition of its major international aerospace and defence exhibition, with Aero India 2027 scheduled to take place from February 8 to 12 at Air Force Station Yelahanka in Bengaluru. The announcement sets the stage for another major gathering of the global aviation and defence industry in India.

The 16th edition of Aero India is expected to bring together defence manufacturers, aerospace companies, armed forces, government representatives, technology developers and other industry stakeholders. The exhibition will provide a platform for companies to display aircraft, defence equipment, aviation technologies and new solutions for the rapidly evolving aerospace sector.

Bengaluru has traditionally played a central role in India’s aerospace ecosystem, making it a significant location for an event of this scale. The city is home to several important organisations and companies associated with aircraft development, defence production, research and aerospace technology.

Aero India 2027 is expected to place considerable attention on India’s expanding indigenous defence manufacturing capabilities. Indian companies are increasingly developing aircraft systems, unmanned platforms, avionics, weapons, electronics and other specialised technologies for both domestic requirements and international markets.

The exhibition is also likely to create opportunities for Indian defence firms to establish partnerships with overseas companies. Such interactions can support technology cooperation, investment, joint development programmes and integration of Indian manufacturers into international aerospace and defence supply chains.

Aerial demonstrations are expected to remain one of the major attractions of the event, alongside the static display of aircraft and defence platforms. The air show traditionally provides an opportunity for visitors and industry representatives to observe advanced aviation capabilities and operational technologies.

The upcoming exhibition also comes at a time when India is placing greater emphasis on self-reliance in defence production and increasing the global reach of its defence industry. Aero India provides an international platform through which these objectives can be presented to foreign governments, armed forces and aerospace companies.

The Ministry of Defence has also established a dedicated digital platform for Aero India 2027. Registration for exhibitors and booking of exhibition space are scheduled to commence from September 3, 2026, allowing participating organisations to begin preparations well ahead of the event.

With Aero India 2027 returning to Yelahanka, Bengaluru will once again become a major meeting point for the international aerospace and defence community. The five-day event is expected to generate significant interest around India’s aviation capabilities, defence technologies, manufacturing ambitions and growing participation in the global defence market.
