CDS Gen Chauhan Meets Senior Russian Navy Leader: Strengthening Bilateral Naval Cooperation

On Monday, Chief of Defence Staff Gen Anil Chauhan and Commander-in-Chief of Russian Navy Admiral Aleksandr Moiseev engaged in extensive discussions to strengthen maritime collaboration between their respective nations. Admiral Moiseev is currently on an official visit to India from August 19 to 22.

These talks emphasized the shared dedication towards enhancing maritime security and deepening strategic cooperation, as well as fostering a stronger defence partnership. This information was provided by the headquarters of Integrated Defence Staff.

In addition, Admiral Moiseyev met with Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi during his visit.

According to officials, the conversation focused on establishing cooperative measures to enhance maritime security cooperation between the two navies.

According to the defense ministry, Admiral Moiseev’s visit is evidence of the long-standing connection between the Russian and Indian navies.

The purpose of the visit is to enhance naval ties between India and Russia and to seek out potential areas for further cooperation.

In addition, Admiral Moiseev is scheduled to travel to Mumbai for bilateral talks with the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command. He will also have the opportunity to tour indigenous warships and submarines during his visit.
