Indian Navy P8i Aircraft To Participate In Sea Dragon 23 Anti-Submarine Warfare Exercise

The Indian Navy’s P8I aircraft will take part in Sea Dragon 23, which is the third coordinated multilateral anti-submarine warfare (ASW) exercise for long-range maritime reconnaissance aircraft.

The exercise, which will take place from March 15 to 30, will focus on coordinated anti-submarine warfare between the countries taking part, according to the Ministry of Defense.

A P8I from the Indian Navy, a P8A from the US Navy, a P1 from the Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force, a CP 140 from the Royal Canadian Air Force, and a P3C from the RoKN would all take part in the exercise.

The Indian Navy’s P8I plane arrived in Guam, US, on March 14. Along with this plane, the P8A from the US Navy, the P1 from the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force, the CP 140 from the Royal Canadian Air Force, and the P3C from the Republic of Korea Navy will also take part in the multilateral ASW (RoKN).

Over the past few years, these drills have steadily become harder and bigger, and now they include advanced ASW drills. During Sea Dragon 23, the planes that are taking part will be tested on how well they can track both simulated and real underwater targets. They will also share what they know.

The goal of the exercise is for the friendly navies to work together well and have a lot of synergy. This is based on their shared values and commitment to an open, inclusive Indo-Pacific.
