20 Warships, 40 Aircraft, And Marcos Commandos Showcase Naval Prowess On Navy Day

According to the Defense Ministry, 20 warships and 40 aircraft, including Mig 29K and LCA Navy, will be at the event. The Marine Commandos (Marcos) of the Indian Navy will also give a combat beach reconnaissance and assault demo. The Indian Navy is making plans for a big event that won’t be held at a major naval station for the first time.

The Sindhudurg Fort was built in 1660 by the Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. It is a part of India’s long maritime history and also allows the Navy to show off its frontline equipment, according to a Defense Ministry official.

The Defense Ministry said that the operational demonstration would start on December 4.

On December 4, the Indian Navy celebrates Navy Day to remember “Operation Trident,” the attack on Karachi harbor by the Navy during the India-Pakistan War of 1971.

A Defense Ministry official also said that the event would include a live broadcast that would show off the Indian Navy’s cutting-edge ships and planes to the public and people who watch online.

People from the Central and state governments, the military, and other groups will be able to watch the event from the Tarkarli beach, which is being hosted by Admiral R. Hari Kumar, Chief of the Naval Staff.

The event will end with ships at anchorage being lit up, followed by a laser show at Sindhudurg Fort.

About 550 km away from Mumbai is the Sindhudurg Fort.
