The 12th edition of the Defense Expo, India’s premier exhibition on land, naval, and homeland security systems, will take place in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, according to a Monday announcement from the Ministry of Defense.

The event will take place from October 18 through October 22, 2022. This edition’s subject is “Path to Pride,” which aims to inspire patriotic pride and motivate people to contribute to nation-building by developing a strong domestic defence sector.

Three business days and two public days make up the five-day event. According to the officials, each day of the five-day event will feature live demonstrations near the Sabarmati River Front that will highlight the tools and expertise of the armed forces, DPSUs, and industry.

According to a release from the Ministry of Defence, “DefExpo 2022 will be hosted in a three-venue format over an area of 01+ lakh square metres at Helipad Exhibition Centre; inaugural event and seminars at Mahatma Mandir Convention and Exhibition Centre; and Live demo at Sabarmati River Front.”

Events like Bandhan, which help companies form partnerships, seminars and webinars showcasing start-ups and MSMEs, as well as cutting-edge technology solutions for the future battlefield, Artificial Intelligence in Defense, student visits, and promoting Gujarat as an investment destination for the aerospace and defence sector, are all planned in conjunction with the exhibition.

The display is in accordance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of achieving defence self-sufficiency and $5 billion in exports by 2025. With several foreign orders won by Indian companies in recent years, India has successfully positioned itself as a rising defence manufacturing base.

The biggest defence expo in Asia, DefExpo-2022, has been eagerly anticipated by the Indian defence industry. Due to the participants’ logistical issues, it was postponed till March 2022.

Indian defence manufacturers are becoming more interested in the reforms in the industry, and it is therefore anticipated that they will actively participate at DefExpo-2022.

Participants in DefExpo-2022 will have the chance to exhibit their platforms and equipment while also having the chance to learn more about the capabilities and strengths of the Indian defence industry as a whole in order to develop business relationships. The event will encourage investment, increase manufacturing capacity and capabilities, and identify opportunities for incorporating new technologies.

In addition to providing educational content about the numerous indigenous defence goods, the DefExpo-2022 website (www.defexpo.gov.in) is accessible to provide online services to exhibitors and promote Gujarat’s heritage and leisure activities.

Indian firms, including Indian subsidiaries of foreign OEMs, joint ventures between Indian and foreign companies, defence public sector undertakings, state pavilions, DRDO, and Indian companies, will be able to reserve exhibit space.
