Two explosive detectors made in the country were given to the Intelligence Bureau so that 12 security departments across the country can use them in the field.
“The move is meant to make the security forces’ equipment even stronger.” “Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), and the Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) made the explosive detectors for the security forces,” the spokesman said.
The devices were just given to IB Director Tapan Deka by Ajay Kumar Sood, who is the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Indian government, according to a spokesman.
They had top leaders from the Army, the SPG, the NSG, the CISF, the ITBP, the SSB, the BCAS, the SFF, and the SSB. Sood said that the making of detectors was a great example of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
The detectors, which use the Ion Mobility Spectrometry (lMS) and Raman Back Scattering (RBS) principles, were customized to meet the needs of the agencies as part of a project started by the IB in 2017 to help with research.
