Two Army Personnel Dead And Four Injured In J&K’s Rajouri Blast During Anti-Terror Operation

On Friday morning in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir, terrorists and security forces got into a fight. Two Army members were killed and four others, including an officer, were hurt. The event happened in the Kesari neighborhood of Kandi town.

After what happened, mobile internet services were turned off in Rajouri.

Army PRO Lt. Colonel Devender Anand said in a statement that security forces had surrounded a group of terrorists in the Kandi area of the Kotranka sub-division as part of a joint operation. The fight began at 8 a.m.

“Indian Army columns have been working hard to find a group of terrorists who ambushed an army truck in the Tota Gali area of Bhata Dhurian in the Jammu region,” the report said.

On May 3, a joint operation was started because of specific knowledge that terrorists were in the Kandi Forest in the Rajouri Sector. Friday morning at 7:30, a search team got in touch with a group of terrorists who were well-hidden in a cave. The area has thick forests and steep, rocky hills.

As the joint teams of forces got closer to the spot, the terrorists hiding there fired on them, which was met with fire in return, the Army said. This is what started the fight.

The people who were hurt have been taken to the Udhampur Command Hospital. As the process is going on, people are waiting for more information.
