Search For 22 Missing Army Personnel Continues In Sikkim

Defense sources said that the search for the missing Indian Army soldiers is still going on, with the main focus being on places downstream of the Teesta Barrage. The army trucks are being dug out of the ground near Singtam in Burdang, and stores are being found. There are now more tools available to help with the search, such as tracker dogs, special radars, and teams of TMR (Tiranga Mountain Rescue).
The Indian Army is also helping citizens and tourists who are stuck in North Sikkim by giving them food, medical care, and ways to communicate.
The Indian Army’s TriShakti Corps has been able to keep track of 1471 guests in the Lachen/Chatten, Lachung, and Chungthang areas. Since the weather is supposed to get better on October 6, there may be a window of time when tourists who are stuck can be rescued by helicopter. This is being planned by the State Government, the Indian Army, and the Indian Air Force all together.
