- The school was one of the first in the country to teach about national security and police work.
- The MHA release also said that the Assam Rifles is in charge of protecting the borders between India and Myanmar and fighting insurgencies.
A deal was made between the Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) and the Assam Rifles on Monday. The deal was signed at the RRU in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Vice Chancellor (VC) of RRU Bimal N Patel signed the MoU on behalf of the RRU. Lt Gen PC Nair, Head of the Assam Rifles, signed it on behalf of the Assam Rifles.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) said in a press release that the MoU will accredit the academic and training program of the Assam Rifles and give certification to different courses. This will make it easier for trainees to do studies, dissertations, and doctoral research according to university rules. It will also promote joint research projects, faculty exchange, and collaborative efforts that will benefit both groups.
DG of the Assam Rifles Lt. Gen. Nair spoke at the event and said, “The combination of our force’s practical experience with the academic rigor of the RRU is set to create a learning environment that fosters both character and competence.”
“Assam Rifles has reached amazing training milestones over the years, showing unwavering dedication and toughness.” Not only is our staff brave, but they also get great education and training, which is the key to our success. “We’re proud of the tough training programs that teach discipline, toughness, and a sense of duty,” he said.
Earlier, VC of RRU Patel said that the university is looking forward to learning from the long operational experiences and people-centered developmental programs that the Assam Rifles has been running in the northeast for decades. These would be turned into case studies for RRU, which could then be used in the studies of many of the university’s faculties, according to an MHA release.
The Rashtriya Raksha University, which is run by the MHA, is a very important state university. The school was one of the first in the country to teach about national security and police work. This is different from the Assam Rifles, which is a Central paramilitary group that works for the MHA.
The MHA release also said that the Assam Rifles is in charge of protecting the borders between India and Myanmar and fighting insurgencies.
