Iran Strikes Damage Negev Desert Air Force Base, IDF Releases Lebanon Ops Video

After Iran launched a barrage of missiles at Israel, satellite images of an aircraft hangar at a key Israeli military air base revealed a large hole in the roof.

The images released on Thursday showed Nevatim Air Base in the Negev Desert suffering major roof damage in a row of buildings near a runway. Large pieces of debris can be seen scattered throughout the building.

The Israeli military has yet to issue a statement on the damage to the Nevatim air base, which houses the Israeli Air Force’s most advanced aircraft, including US-produced F-35 Lightning II stealth fighter jets.

However, the Israeli military acknowledged on Wednesday that some of its airbases were hit by Iran’s attack, but the damage was deemed “ineffective,” implying that there was no harm to the Israeli Air Force’s ongoing operations.

According to reports, Iran launched at least 180 missiles into Israel on Tuesday. Iran claimed the barrage was in retaliation for a series of devastating blows delivered by Israel against Hezbollah in recent weeks, including the assassination of its leader Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut last week.

According to the Israeli military, the missile impacts damaged office buildings and maintenance areas at the bases but did not cause damage to fighter jets, drones, other aircraft, munitions, or critical infrastructure.

A day after Iran launched a missile barrage at Israel, the IDF announced limited ground incursions into Lebanon targeting Iran-backed Hezbollah, the latest in a series of rapidly escalating attacks between Israel, Iran, and its Arab allies that threatens to push the Middle East closer to a regional war.

On Thursday, the Israeli military continued its campaign against Hezbollah by releasing video footage of an operation in Lebanon in which it struck the Bint Jbeil municipality building, where Hezbollah terrorists were reportedly operating.

“As part of the strike, approximately 15 Hezbollah terrorists were eliminated,” the Israeli military claimed on Thursday.

The military also stated that it struck approximately 200 Hezbollah terrorist targets on Lebanese soil, including terrorist infrastructure sites, terrorists, weapons storage facilities, observation posts, and additional terrorist infrastructure in southern Lebanon.

Yemen’s Houthi group claimed responsibility for Thursday’s drone attack on a “vital target” in Jaffa, central Israel. The group fired several drones on Jaffa and achieved their goal, according to Houthi spokesman Yahya Sare, who did not elaborate.

He vowed to continue military attacks on Israel until it stops bombing the Gaza Strip and Lebanon. Meanwhile, the Israeli army said it intercepted a “suspicious aerial target” off the coast of central Israel.

The attack came just days after Israeli warplanes launched airstrikes in Yemen’s coastal province of Al Hudaydah, killing at least six people and injuring 57 others, according to Houthi-run authorities.
